BCS Elite alliance with the Deloitte CIO Club

We are pleased to announce that BCS Elite has formed an alliance with Deloitte’s UK-wide CIO Club. The Deloitte CIO club was established to address the topics that matter most to senior IT executives across the UK. It meets regularly in London, Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham with further venues planned for later this year. The alliance gives BCS Elite members the benefit of being able to attend Deloitte CIO club events free of charge. It also provides venues for BCS Elite members to network outside London and with their peers in other organisations. In the future we hope to run the occasional joint event with the Deloitte CIO Club. We will include a list of the forthcoming Deloitte CIO Club events in the BCS Elite newsletters.

The subject of the next Deloitte CIO Club event is ‘Delivering the Benefit’. The meeting will discuss and debate the critical factors required to ensure delivery success and to equip IT Directors to provide the business with flexible and scalable systems for the future - including an architected approach to systems delivery, agile development methodologies and effective programme management - and it will also reflect upon the growing use of Open Source. The main speaker will be Neil Allcock, leader of Deloitte’s Development and integration group. The event will be hosted by Chris Digby and Neil Jones of Deloitte.

The event will be held at the following Deloitte offices with light refreshments provided:

• Leeds on Tuesday 28th March 2006, registration at 4.30 p.m. for a 5.00 start;
• Manchester on Wednesday 29th March 2006, registration at 8.30 a.m. for a 9.00 start;
• Birmingham on Friday 7th April 2006, registration at 10.00 a.m. for a 10.30 start;
